Little Rug Rats

It appears I got a little parting gift from the mouth breather rug rats at the campground... a cold.  I'm majorly kicking its ass though.  First day was a cake walk, today was the worst of it I think and I still made it to work for most of the day.  Just got a little more tired than usual so I went home to rest.  Nice cushy nap followed by some clear-out-your-sinuses hot and sour soup from my favorite Chinese place.  I'm working from home the rest of this week so it's slippers and robe time for a few days and that should get me all betta.

I also just finished my budget for the next year (including the Canada trip).  The trip is coming in around $4700.00 including the retreat which is $1,000 of that which is already paid for.  That includes gas, lodging, and meals plus money for recreation during parts of the trip where that will be possible.  It sounds like a lot of money, but the places I chose to stay at in Jasper and Banff are really nice resort/spa type places (because I deserve it, dammit.)  :)  I also picked some pretty decent hotels at each stop instead of motel 6 type places.  I want Internet and hot tubs if possible.  Could it be done cheaper?  Oh yeah.  One rider I read about sets up his tent in graveyards after dark and books out before sunrise.  Now that's cheap.  But I want to tour without money being an issue so I'm saving up the money.  By the time June rolls around, I'll have the $3700 I need and I'll be able to truly enjoy myself.  Maybe some day, I'll do a trip like this and challenge myself to do it as cheap as possible - not this one.
