Next Motorcycle Ride - San Simeon State Park

Just booked a campground at San Simeon State Park.  I'm going to try to loop back up I-5 to meet my friends Tony and Rochelle at Harris Ranch for,  what I'm sure will be, a well-deserved steak lunch then up some beautiful scenic highways back to Livermore.  It's a decent ride coming in around 538 miles round trip and I will be trying out my highway pegs and new boots (assuming they get here in time) as well as getting the hang of packing and using my camping gear again.

Since I usually travel alone, I will always post my routes on this blog for safety purposes.  I remember one time Jesse was supposedly going on a ride and never called and he disappeared for a long time after dark.  I imagined him laying on the side of some cliff near Santa Cruz and was wishing I knew the route he'd taken.  As it turns out, the route he took was into some dude's apartment in the Castro.  (How was I so stupid to keep taking the jerk back?  The subject of a later post.)

Anyways, I want everyone to know my routes and will try to keep posting them as I go in case I vanish, at least everyone will have a starting point.  I will also be attempting to blog from my iPhone during the trip.  I can post pictures but because the camera on the iPhone kind of sucks, the pictures won't be stellar.  I'm looking for a better solution for that for the Canada trip, but there's time.  All of my ride announcement posts will have a table at the bottom with basic stats including a link to my route.  So here's the first:
