So the free web counter I was using on the left of the blog to display the visitor count was actually a bit deceptive. It was actually displaying what are called "Page Loads" which means every time someone loaded the page, it would increment - Including when I loaded it to add a new blog entry. I've always been a little curious how many people are actually reading the blog so I replaced it with a different (less attractive, unfortunately) web counter that is more accurate. It will only increment the first load from a reader. Every subsequent load within 30 minutes will not be counted, and my IP address is excluded so my loads will never increment the counter. I had no idea where to set it to start, so I just picked 500.
